SLC Aquadot although having origins dating back to 1978, formalised its current name and its association with Sutherland Leisure Centre in 1998.


SLC Aquadot in its affiliation with Sutherland Leisure Centre provides a Friday Night Swim Club at the Leisure Centre and its aim is to encourage swimming and provide swimming opportunities for all levels of ability.


SLC Aquadot in conjunction with the Sutherland Leisure Centre has a long history in the Sutherland Shire Local Government Area and has helped produce swimmers who have represented the local community and SLC Aquadot at State, National and International competitions, including Commonwealth and Olympic games.


SLC Aquadot caters for those persons who like to swim socially and those persons who like to compete at numerous swim meets and carnivals help by various clubs and associations.


The ages of swimmers range from 4 years upwards.


SLC Aquadot is affiliated to Swimming NSW Ltd , the  Metropolitan South East Area “MetSEA” and Swimming Australia.


To promote the sport of swimming.

To stimulate public opinion in favour of providing proper accommodation and facilities for the sport of swimming.

To support members who represent SLCA in swim meets conducted in strict accordance with the rules of Swimming NSW.

To hold contests and championships from time to time as the Committee may determine.


SLC Aquadot conducts Friday Night Club Races for both the winter and summer seasons. Summer season racing is conducted from October to March outside in the 50m Olympic Pool at Sutherland Leisure Centre.

Winter season racing is conducted from April to September inside in the 25m Pool at Sutherland Leisure Centre.

Friday Night Race Programmes are advertised on our club website and cover a range of competitive swimming strokes.

Each swimmer competes against their own times, points being awarded in relation to each swimmer’s own best times for a particular event i.e. points for swimming faster that their own previously recorded best time.

The summer and winter programmes lead up to Club Championships held at the end of each season. Presentation functions/Club socials are held after the conclusion of each season where medals and trophies are awarded.

A number of carnivals are held during the year which cater for members of all swimming abilities. Information on Carnivals and Entry Instructions can be found of the Club’s website


SLC Aquadot offers a ‘come and try’ period of three consecutive Friday Night Club races before a swimmer needs to register with the Club.

Club racing starts at 6.30 p.m.

Swimmers choose two races from the nights programme and are required to enter online by Thursday 6pm each week.

Swimmer gather in the marshalling areas. The marshalling areas are –


Summer – the grassed area at the starting block end of the 50 metre pool


Winter – the end of the grandstand adjacent to the 25m indoor pool.


Swimmers will be placed in races of their choosing in accordance with their ability. Timekeepers are required for each lane and all parents are expected to assist.

SLC Aquadot Swim Team aims to provide each member with the opportunity to enjoy their swimming experience and maximise their available talents.
